Born in june 1973 in Paris, Mouna Jemal lives and works in Tunis.

She is graduated from the University of Paris I. She teaches at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts of Tunis. Her work combines digital, virtual and real dimensions. It covers her life experience since she gave birth to triplets. Her photomontages reduce différent forms often linked to the positions of her three children.

She took part in several contemporary art biennales among which the 8th meeting of Bamako and organized individual exhibitions in Tunisia. Award winner of the Grand Prix de la Médina de Tunis 2005, she just obtained President Prize 2010 Arts and Letters President Prize in photography.

By exploiting the possibilities of digital langage Mouna Jmal creates original mosaïcs. Through her work « Fate », the mixed photographs of her triplets trapped within windows and symmetrically multiplied give place to an installation which reminds boats of the ancient and new slavery.
