“In love, ask me to summarize the madness
Ask me of my soul and my lost logic
Ask me about the one hundred things that make each day better
Ask me for one hundred deserts filled with the fire of bloom … »
Djalâl ad-Dîn Rûmî (1207 – 1273)

Inspired by the poetry of Djalâl ad-Dîn Rûmî, the great Persian poet and Sufi mystic and origin of the order of the Whirling dervishes, Ha !, the latest creation of Bouchra Ouizguen, explores states of madness. But what kind of madness? That of genius or of wisdom? Ordinary or bloodthirsty? Alienating or liberating? Of love or of desperation? Exuberant or senseless?
If, in Europe, the mad are always locked away; it is not the case in Arab culture where they have their place in society. Many words exist to describe madness, just as there are many worlds for the remedies that pass through song, dance, and mystic rituals, trance or shamanism.
Continuing with Fatima El Hanna, Kabboura Aït Ben Hmad, and Naïma Sahmoud, the process of working that led to the success of Madame Plaza, Bouchra Ouizgen set out once again to journey across the Moroccan territory to delve into the relationship that each person has between body and soul, with their obsessions.
In the mountains, schools, bars, or even the desert. In search of others, of those who frighten us or alienate us, of those who are strangers to all and even to themselves, of those whose silence worries us and sometimes awakens us. These women and these men, by the intensity of their presence, reveal to us a backwards life.
This representation is neither a dance, nor a performance, nor an installation, nor a work of theater…nor anything else of the usual order. It is a limited experience from which spectators and artists emerge literally exhausted.
