Melinda Fourn (born in France) is a French-Beninese artist trained at the Beaux-Arts de Paris. After an exchange programme at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, she chose to develop her practice in West Africa, between Senegal and Ghana. Through sculpture, multimedia installation, photography, and poetic writing, she explores West African craft techniques (weaving, braiding, ceramics, jewellery, and metallurgy), which she documents and learns from artisans. Her work interrogates the transmission of this knowledge and the risks of its disappearance linked to industrialisation and mass imports. Winner of the Galerie Vallois residency prize at BISO in 2023, she was also hosted for a residency at Le Centre in Benin in 2025.
