Caroline Déodat est une artiste, réalisatrice et chercheuse française dont la pratique se situe à la croisée de l’ethnographie expérimentale et de la fabulation, de la recherche archivistique et de la théorie critique. Titulaire d’un doctorat en anthropologie et ethnologie sociale de l’EHESS, elle a complété sa formation par un post-diplôme Art à l’École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon. À travers le film et l’installation, elle explore la dimension spectrale des images en mouvement, les processus d’aliénation ainsi que les mythes et histoires de la violence. Son travail a notamment été présenté au Museo Reina Sofía, à la Fondation Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, aux Rencontres de Bamako, au Jeu de Paume, à la Brooklyn Academy of Music, au CAPC et au Nouveau Printemps.
Caroline Déodat is a French artist, filmmaker, and researcher whose practice sits at the intersection of experimental ethnography and fabulation, archival research, and critical theory. She holds a PhD in social anthropology and ethnology from the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) and completed her training with a post-diploma in Art at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon. Through film and installation, she explores the spectral dimension of moving images, processes of alienation, and myths and histories of violence. Her work has notably been presented at the Museo Reina Sofía, the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, the Rencontres de Bamako, the Jeu de Paume, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, CAPC, and Le Nouveau Printemps.
