Kuukua Eshun sensibilise le grand public sur les problématiques sociales et sur la santé mentale par le biais de ses ouvrages et films. Elle est une cinéaste qui a été plusieurs fois primée. Son film, Artist, Act of Love, a récemment remporté un prix au Festival International des Films de Femmes pour le meilleur effet visuel et a également été projeté au Urban Films Festival. Elle a travaillé avec Roc-nation, Vic Mensa, Wizkid, Huawei, Facebook, Variety Magazine, Michaela Coel, Lifetime Tv, The Economist. Sa conviction en l’égalité des sexes l’a poussée à manifester dans les rues d’Accra et à collaborer avec l’UNFPA Ghana pour organiser une session de thérapie pour les jeunes femmes victimes d’agressions sexuelles. Elle est également la cofondatrice de Boxed Kids, une organisation qui a pour objectif principal d’offrir une éducation aux jeunes de Jamestown, au Ghana, et du Skate Gal Club, la première équipe de skate entièrement féminine au Ghana, dont l’objectif est de créer un espace sécurisé pour les femmes dans le sport sur le continent.

 

Kuukua Eshun raises awareness about social issues and mental health through her writing and film. She is a multi award-winning filmmaker. Her Film, Artist, Act of Love recently won an award at the worldwide women’s films festival for best visual effect and also screened at the Academy Award-Qualifying Urban world film festival. She has worked with Roc-nation, Vic Mensa, Wizkid, Huawei, Facebook, Variety Magazine, Michaela Coel, Lifetime Tv, The Economist. Her belief in gender equity has pushed her to protest on the streets of Accra and to collaborate with UNFPA Ghana to hold a healing session for young women who are survivors of sexual assault. She is also the co-founder of boxed kids, an organization that prioritizes in the ultimate purpose in providing an education to the youth of Jamestown, Ghana, and of Skate Gal Club, the first all female skate crew in Ghana, whose goal is to create a safe space for women in sports on the continent.
