L’artiste Coly Faye âgé de 46 ans, de nationalité sénégalaise, a fini de faire une carrière artistique de prés de 20 ans. Depuis sa sortie de l’école nationale des arts en tant que professeur d’éducation artistique en 2000, Coly n’a cessé de participer à de nombreuses expositions nationales et internationales. Il se distingue à plusieurs reprises au Sénégal et à l’étranger : en 2007 il obtient le prix de l’innovation du salon national des artistes plasticiens du Sénégal après être sélectionné à l’édition précédente. Il est aussi sélectionné au dernier salon des artistes plasticiens du Sénégal 2019. En 2008, il est primé au concours international de peinture Cuomo Monté Carlo Monaco. Passionné par la recherche artistique, il cherche toujours à innover et refuse toute étiquette conceptuelle. Pour lui, « l’art n’est pas la recherche d’un confort que procure la trouvaille d’un style particulier mais plutôt une recherche, une remise en cause et une invitation à la découverte et à la réflexion d’une manière permanente… »
The 46-year-old artist Coly Faye, of Senegalese nationality, has finished an artistic career of nearly 20 years. Since graduating from the National School of Arts as a professor of art education in 2000, Coly has since participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. He distinguished himself on several occasions in Senegal and abroad: in 2007 he won the innovation prize at the salon national des artistes plasticiens in Senegal after being selected for the previous edition. He was also selected at the last salon national des artistes plasticiens of Senegal 2019. In 2008, he won an award at the Cuomo Monté Carlo Monaco international painting competition. Passionate about artistic research, he always seeks to innovate and refuses any conceptual label. For him, « art is not the search for comfort that comes from finding a particular style but rather a search, a questioning and an invitation to discovery and reflection in a permanent way. … »
