Yrneh Gabon, né en Jamaïque et basé aux États-Unis, est un artiste interdisciplinaire et militant des droits de l’homme dont le travail traite des questions environnementales dans un contexte socio-politique et historique. Gabon a exposé à l’échelle internationale et nationale, notamment une exposition solo au California African American Museum (2014-2015), qui lui a valu une invitation à témoigner aux Nations Unies à New York, où un projet de loi pour la Journée de l’albinisme (11 juin) a été adopté pour protéger les albinos. Il a bénéficié de nombreuses résidences à travers le monde, notamment la résidence de la Fundación Sebastián à Mexico (2017). Actuellement, il explore comment le changement climatique affecte la production de sel à Dakar, au Sénégal, et dans d’autres régions du monde, notamment les Amériques.
Yrneh Gabon is a Jamaican-born, American-based interdisciplinary artist and human rights activist whose work deals with sustainable environmental issues in a socio-political and historical context. Gabon has exhibited internationally and nationally including a solo exhibition at the California African American Museum (2014-2015), which earned him an invitation to testify at the United Nations in New York where a bill for Albinism Day (June 11) was passed to protect albinos. Gabon has been awarded many residencies around the world, including the Fundación Sebastián Residency in Mexico City (2017). Currently, he’s exploring how climate change affects salt production in Dakar, Senegal, and other parts of the world, including the Americas.
