Rafael RG est artiste visuel et auteur. Il est né et a grandi à Guarulhos et vit et travaille actuellement entre Belo Horizonte et Salvador, au Brésil. Sa pratique se concentre sur les relations sexuelles et affectives et leurs implications politiques ainsi que la question de l’identité raciale. Travaillant à partir d’archives institutionnelles et personnelles, il présente ses recherches à l’occasion d’ateliers, et à travers des installations, des lectures/performances, des publications et des objets. L’artiste est régulièrement un acteur des récits fictionnels qu’il propose.
Rafael RG is a visual artist and writer born and raised in Guarulhos and now lives and works between Belo Horizonte and Salvador, Brazil. His practice focuses on sexual and affective relationships and their political implications as well as issues of racial identity. Working with institutional and personal archives, he presents his research through workshops, installations, performative texts, publications and objects. The materials he works with are often closely associated with narratives that involve himself or an alter ego in some way and the resulting projects are close to or resemble fiction.
