Sibonelo Gumede est un urbaniste et chercheur qui s’intéresse à l’intersection entre le lieu, la culture générale et les futurités noires dans les spatialités (post) coloniales. Sibonelo est chercheur au Centre for Arts, Design and Social Research (CADSR) en 2021 et siège au comité du Black Planetary Futures Institute. Sibonelo est titulaire d’un Master en Etudes de Développement et prépare actuellement un Doctorat en Urbanisme au Centre Africain pour les Villes de l’Université du Cap, où il étudie la sonique noire en relation avec la conception d’espaces.
Sibonelo Gumede is an urbanist and researcher who is interested in the intersection of place, public culture and black futurities in (post) colonial spatialities. Sibonelo is a 2021 research fellow at the Centre for Arts, Design and Social Research (CADSR) and sits in the Black Planetary Futures Institute committee. Sibonelo holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies, and is currently pursuing an MPhil in Southern Urbanism at the African Centre for Cities at the University of Cape Town where he is looking at the black sonic in relation to space-making.
