Rawan Abbas (née en 1996) est une artiste multidisciplinaire basée au Caire, en Égypte. Elle est titulaire d’une licence de la Faculté des arts appliqués à l’Université d’Helwan, et a étudié les beaux-arts pendant un an à la Cardiff Metropolitan University à Cardiff, au Pays de Galles, grâce à une bourse Erasmus+. Elle a participé à de nombreuses expositions où elle a présenté des textiles, des sculptures, des installations et des vidéos. Son travail actuel porte sur les notions d’identité, le social et le personnel. Elle s’intéresse à la façon dont la société façonne les individus et leur conscience de soi, ainsi que leurs interactions sociales et leurs gestes privés d’intimité. Rawan s’intéresse également au statut des femmes, à la façon dont elles naviguent dans la société et à la façon dont la société influence la perception du genre.
Rawan Abbas (b.1996) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Cairo, Egypt. She has a BA from the Faculty of Applied Arts – Helwan University, and has studied Fine Art for a year at Cardiff Metropolitan University in Cardiff, Wales on a grant from Erasmus+. She has participated in many exhibitions where she exhibited textiles, sculpture, installation art, and video. Her current body of work is concerned with notions of identity; the social, and the personal. She’s interested in how society shapes individuals and their self consciousness, as well as their social interactions and private gestures of intimacy. Rawan is also concerned with the status of women, how they navigate society, and how society influences the perception of gender.
