Caroline Gueye est née et a grandi au Sénégal, puis a poursuivi ses études supérieures en France, aux États-Unis et en Chine. Elle est diplômée en astrophysique, physique atmosphérique, en chinois et prépare actuellement un doctorat en art et science. Caroline a baigné dans un environnement artistique. Les longues discussions avec son grand-père Paul Ahyi, auteur du drapeau togolais, et les dessins qu’ils réalisaient ensemble quand elle était enfant sur les murs de sa chambre ont guidé ses premiers pas dans l’art. En 2016, son travail dans l’atelier de l’artiste chinois Qin Chong (亲冲) a stimulé sa préférence pour les volumes. Depuis, elle a participé à 6 expositions solo et 20 expositions collectives sur quatre continents. Après deux années particulières et des projets reportés dus à la pandémie COVID 19, en 2021 elle est exposée à la Cité de l’Espace à Toulouse dans le cadre de la Saison Africa 2020 et au FRAC Centre. Elle réside au Sénégal.
Caroline Gueye was born and raised in Senegal, then pursued her higher education in France, the United States and China. She holds degrees in astrophysics, atmospheric physics, Chinese and is currently working on a PhD in art and science. Caroline has been immersed in an artistic environment. The long discussions with her grandfather Paul Ahyi, author of the Togolese flag, and the drawings they made together when she was a child, on her bedroom walls, guided her first steps in art. In 2016, her work in the studio of Chinese artist Qin Chong (亲冲) stimulated her preference for volumes. Since then she has participated in 6 solo exhibitions and 20 group exhibitions on four continents. After two particular years and postponed projects due to the COVID 19 pandemic, in 2021, she is exhibited at the Cité de l’Espace in Toulouse as part of the Africa 2020 Season and at the FRAC Centre. She lives in Senegal.
