Auteur, metteur en scène, acteur rwandais, il a été formé aux arts de la scène par son père Cyprien Rugambaet au Conservatoire Royal de Musique de Liège dont il est premier prix en art dramatique. Il a travaillé avec les metteurs en scène et chorégraphes Cyprien Rugamba, Jacques Delcuvellerie, Peter Brook, Laurent Vacher, Milo Rau, Saul Williams et partagé la scène avec des artistes d’horizons divers comme Sotigui Kouyate, Bruce Myers, Yoshi Oida, Dennis Lavant, Rachid Djaidani, Toshi Tsuchitori, Damon Albarn. 2005 : met en scène L’Instruction de Peter Weiss sur le procès des responsables d’Auschwitz. 2007 : crée Bloody Niggers, une fresque sur la violence de masse aux accents césairiens produite par le Théâtre National de Belgique. 2018 : crée le spectacle afro-futuriste Planet Kigali au Théâtre Kampnagel à Hambourg. 2019 : crée l’opéra « Umurinzi » pour la 25e commémoration du génocide au Rwanda. 2020 : crée « Les Restes Suprêmes » au Théâtre National de Bruxelles. 2020 : présente en collaboration avec Abderahmane Sissako et Damon Albarn l’Opéra Le Vol du Boli au Théâtre du Chatel et à Paris. 2021 : Crée Liberté, j’aurai habité ton rêve jusqu’au dernier soir de Felwine Sarrau Festivalin d’Avignon.

He has worked with directors and choreographers Cyprien Rugamba, Jacques Delcuvellerie, Peter Brook, Laurent Vacher, Milo Rau, Saul Williams and has shared the stage with artists from different backgrounds such as Sotigui Kouyate, Bruce Myers, Yoshi Oida, Dennis Lavant, Rachid Djaidani, Toshi Tsuchitori, Damon Albarn. 2005: directed Peter Weiss’ Investigation on the trial of the Auschwitz perpetrators. 2007: produced Bloody Niggers, a fresco on mass violence with Caesarean accents produced by the National Theatre of Belgium. 2018: created the Afro-futuristic show Planet Kigali at the Kampnagel Theater in Hamburg. 2019: performed the opera » Umurinzi » for the 25th commemoration of the genocide in Rwanda. 2020: premiered » The Ultimate Remains » at the Théâtre National de Bruxelles. 2020: produced in collaboration with Abderahmane Sissako and Damon Albarn the opera The Flight of Boli at the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris.
