Tegene Kunbi (*1980 à Addis Abeba) est un artiste abstrait vivant à Berlin. Tegene Kunbi a obtenu un diplôme de peinture et d’éducation artistique à l’école des beaux-arts de l’université d’Addis Abeba en 2004 et a continué à enseigner à la Kotebe College Academy. Avec l’aide de la prestigieuse bourse du DAAD, il a quitté l’Éthiopie en 2008 pour poursuivre ses études de peinture à l’Universität der Künste Berlin, où il a obtenu un Master of Fine Arts en 2011. Depuis ce temps, il travaille à Berlin et a participé à de multiples expositions collectives et individuelles en Allemagne et à l’étranger, ainsi qu’à des projets et ateliers internationaux collaboratifs, par exemple à Paris, Casablanca, New York, Nairobi, Nouakchott et Amsterdam.
