Le collectif Troubled Archives (2019) est basé à Bruxelles et se compose des artistes et chercheurs Rokia Bamba, Antje Van Wichelen, Michael Murtaugh, Brenda Bikoko, Peggy Pierrot et Loes Jacobs. Troubled Archives se concentre sur la critique des pratiques archivistiques à la lumière des systèmes de contrôle contemporains. Ensemble, ils ont élaboré des installations et écrit des articles qui invitent le visiteur ou lecteur à s’engager dans une réflexion sur l’invention des clichés coloniaux et leur pérennisation actuelle. Comment transformer ces images néfastes en une matière à travailler? Comment déconstruire ces systèmes et ces schémas et porter la réflexion et les actions vers une « nouvelle éthique relationnelle » – comme le disent si bien Felwine Sarr et Bénédicte Savoy?
The Troubled Archives collective (2019) is based in Brussels and consists of artists and researchers Rokia Bamba, Antje Van Wichelen, Michael Murtaugh, Brenda Bikoko, Peggy Pierrot and Loes Jacobs. Troubled Archives focuses on the critique of archival practices in light of contemporary systems of control. Together they have developed installations and written articles that invite the visitor or reader to engage with the invention of colonial clichés and their perpetuation today. How to transform these harmful images into a material to work with?
