Younès Ben Slimane est un artiste, cinéaste et architecte tunisien dont la pratique artistique est profondément influencée par sa formation en architecture. En 2020, il intègre Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains. Son approche artistique est multifacette, embrassant la vidéo, le dessin, l’installation et le film. Il crée un dialogue constant entre l’architecture et les arts visuels, permettant aux différents médiums de coexister et de refléter leurs potentiels respectifs ainsi que leurs limites.
Younès Ben Slimane a participé à plusieurs événements majeurs d’art contemporain, notamment le Jaou Tunis et le Documenta fifteen. Son travail a été exposé au Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles à Paris, à la Selma Feriani Gallery à Sidi Bou Saïd, au Mucem de Marseille ou encore au Musée d’art contemporain de Skopje. Ses films ont également été sélectionnés dans des festivals internationaux de renom, parmi lesquels figurent le Locarno Film Festival, le CPH:DOX et le DokuFest. En 2021, il reçoit le Prix Studio Collector.
Younès Ben Slimane is a Tunisian artist, filmmaker and architect whose artistic practice is strongly influenced by his training in architecture. He has been a member of Le Fresnoy – National Studio of Contemporary Art since 2020. His artistic approach is versatile and includes video, drawing, installation and film. He creates a constant dialog between architecture and visual arts, allowing the different media to coexist and reflect on their respective possibilities, but also their limits.
