Miriam Hillawi Abraham is a multidisciplinary designer from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Drawing on her training in architecture, she focuses her work on the experimental preservation and perpetuation of the material heritage and intangible knowledge of the African continent. Her methodology leads her to take on the role of a weaver, interlacing threads that connect scattered worlds. Following her Mellon research fellowship for the Canadian Centre for Architecture’s Digital Now multidisciplinary project and residencies at Jan van Eyck Academie and Onassis AiR, she co-curated Red Wind, Coral Worlds with Dr Huda Tayoub at Hayy Jameel, which opened in May 2026. Her work has been presented at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, the 2nd Sharjah Architecture Triennial, and the 14th Shanghai Biennale, Cosmos Cinema.
