Alioune Diouf (né à Dakar, vit à Dakar) réalise des peintures, des installations et des sculptures. Son œuvre s’appuie sur une conscience aiguisée du vécu, de l’expérience existentielle, de ses implications – au cœur du monde – dans ses racines sérères, wolofs, entrelacées à d’autres imaginaires. Son travail incarne le débordement : chaque figure dessinée – de l’oiseau, à l’arbre, à l’homme, – ne s’arrête jamais à sa forme, mais se déploie et s’étire au-delà de ses contours. Dans cette circulation ininterrompue du vivant, ces personnages sont liés par un seul fil à coudre, par le même souffle qui les anime. Membre du Laboratoire Agit-art depuis 1989, il a participé à Tenq (dir. Clementine Deliss) en 1996. Il fut (et reste) un compagnon de Joe Ouakam aka Issa Samb, ayant vécu avec lui au 17 rue Jules Ferry, où il s’engagea dans la réalisation d’œuvres communes… tout comme il travailla avec d’autres compagnons, tel l’artiste El Hadji Sy. Alioune Diouf a participé à nombreux ateliers collectifs (île Ngor, Keur Djibril Diop Mambety, Espace Medina). Ses oeuvres ont été notamment exposées à la galerie L’embarcadère, Galerie Quatre Vent, Galerie Keur Gaindé, au 17 rue Jules Ferry (par Aleth Lablanchy), au Théâtre Sorano, ou en France. Résidences : Artisans du Feu(Maroc, 2001); centre d’art contemporain, Meet Factory (Prague, 2015). Alioune Diouf (born and lives in Dakar) creates paintings, installations and sculptures. His practice relies on a honed sense of life, of the existential experience, of his implication – at the heart of the world – in his Serer and Wolof origins, intertwined with other imaginaries. In this uninterrupted movement of the living, these characters are joined by a single thread, by the same breath that fills them with life.
