Né en 1988 à Katiola (Côte d’Ivoire). Vit et travaille à Bingerville (Côte d’Ivoire). Lanin Saint Etienne Yéanzy est un adepte du Street-art. A l’entame de sa carrière de peintre, il a travaillé pendant une dizaine d’années comme portraitiste, réalisant ses œuvres sur commande. Depuis 2013, il poursuit un travail personnel en utilisant la matière plastique qu’il fond et soumet à sa dictée. Modifiant ainsi son rapport au portrait, il peint sans peinture les personnes qui l’entourent au quotidien. Dans cette démarche, il collecte les histoires de chacun, les identités remarquables, les masques portés en société, etc., pour révéler, en filigrane, les personnalités intrinsèques individuelles. Pour servir cette cause, Yéanzi utilise souvent, pour ses titres, leurs noms d’emprunt. En 2015, la galerie Cécile Fakhoury d’Abidjan lui offre l’opportunité de sa première exposition personnelle intitulée « Persona ». Depuis – et à force de travail – il est devenu un artiste majeur de scène artistique ivoirienne et africaine. En 2017, il fait son entrée dans la collection du Musée d’Art moderne et contemporain Mohammed VI de Rabat. Il figure au nombre des artistes présents à la Biennale des Arts de Venise 2022, au sein du pavillon ivoirien.

At the beginning of his career as a painter, he worked for ten years as a portraitist, making his works on commission.Since 2013, he pursues a personal work using plastic material that he melts. Thus, changing his relationship to portraiture, he paints without painting the people who surround him in everyday life. In this approach, he collects the stories of each person, the remarkable identities, the masks worn in society, etc., to reveal, in filigree, the individual personalities. To serve this cause, Yéanzi uses, for his titles, their assumed names. In 2015, the Cécile Fakhoury gallery in Abidjan offered him the opportunity for his first solo exhibition entitled « Persona ». Since then, and by dint of hard work, he has become a major artist of the art scene in Côte d’Ivoire. In 2017, he entered the collection of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Mohammed VI in Rabat. He is among the artists of the Venice Biennale of Arts 2022.
