Né le 15 avril 1977 à Missirah dans la région de Diourbel, Laye Ka est un artiste sénégalais travaillant et vivant à Kolda, dans la région sud du Sénégal, la Casamance. Dès son jeune âge, il voue un intérêt particulier au dessin et au bricolage. Il intègre l’École Nationale des Arts (ENA) en 2002 et en sort en 2006 avec le Diplôme de Fin d’Études Supérieures Artistiques (DEFESA). Il expose depuis et remporte le premier prix du salon national des arts du Sénégal en 2019.
Born on April 15th, 1977 in Missirah, Diourbel, Laye Ka is a Senegalese artist working and living in Kolda, in Casamance, the Southern region of Senegal. From a young age, he found an interest in drawing and crafts. He attended the ENA (National School of Arts) from 2002 to 2006 and graduated with a DEFESA (Diploma of End of Higher Studies in Art). He has been exhibited since then and won the first prize in the Senegalese National Arts Salon in 2019.
