Marianela Orozco (Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, 1973) est une artiste multidisciplinaire qui vit et travaille à La Havane. Sa pratique s’articule autour de préoccupations anthropologiques, explorant les relations entre fragilité et pouvoir, privé et public, nature et civilisation. Sans se détacher du contexte social et politique, elle se concentre sur des contenus humains universels : le passage du temps, l’incertitude devant l’inconnu, la circularité, l’insignifiance des actions répétitives, le poids du quotidien… Ses projets incluent la photographie, la vidéo, l’installation, la performance et l’intervention publique. Marianela Orozco (Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, 1973) is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Havana. Her practice is centered around anthropological concerns, exploring relations between fragility and power, private and public, nature and civilization. Without detaching herself from the social and political context, she focuses on universal human contents: the passing of time, the uncertainty before the unknown, the circularity, the meaninglessness of repetitive actions, the weight of the everyday… Her projects include photography, video, installation, performance and public intervention.
